About Me

My name is Damian Goacher, I am 21 years old and a senior at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at ASU. I wasn’t always a journalist, I started my college education in STEM as an Aerospace Engineer. The switch from engineering to journalism wasn’t easy, as they both utilized different skills. Journalism has changed my life and helped me unlock aspects of myself that I would have never learned of while in Engineering. 

 

As a journalism student, I have worked for the State Press as a Podcast and Politics reporter and some independent work for ASU Thrive Magazine. That independent work for ASU Thrive led to a job offer. I am always looking to learn more about a new skill in my free time. I tend to gravitate towards the creative side of things, learning how to draw or learning how to make music. I try to live my life as creatively as possible, as its what makes me the most happy.
