Snowbirding in Apache Junction

By Damian Goacher

I decided to do a project on the snowbirds in Apache Junction. This is a community that is looked down upon for very superficial reasons. "They drive slow" or "They make everywhere busy". This multimedia project takes a deeper look into this community.

One of the many beauties of Apache Junction, the Superstition Mountains. This historic mountain is key to the town's history, and it sits right on the horizon. Many snowbirds boast about this mountain as one of the many perks of snow birding in Apache Junction.

Apache Land is one of Apache Junction's most famous attractions. Sitting right on the Lost Dutchman Highway, it is open to the public for tours. Apache Land was old western movie set built in 1960.

This is a picture of a beautiful sunset in the Golden Sun Resort in Apache Junction. This RV park is home to many snowbirds who enjoy living in Apache Junction.

This infographic highlights some quick facts about snowbirds in Apache Junction.

This is the main office/event hall at the Golden Sun Resort. This is where the seniors gather in community, whether to play bingo or to dance. This keeps them engaged with each other.
